Every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Fox Run Eye Care offers a free carotenoid reading at our Greenland, NH office. Carotenoids — lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin — form the macular pigment that protects your central vision.
Both contain all three macular carotenoids in the patented 10:10:2 ratio (10mg lutein, 10mg meso-zeaxanthin, 2mg zeaxanthin). MacuHealth+ adds vitamin C, vitamin E, 25mg zinc, and copper, making it an AREDS2-based formulation for the aging eye.
Many lower-cost fish oils use the ethyl ester form, a synthetic form not found naturally in fish. MacuHealth TG Omega-3 is in the re-esterified triglyceride form, which is significantly more bioavailable, and it delivers 1,100mg EPA and 1,100mg DHA per serving.
VitreousHealth contains antioxidant and anti-glycation nutrients studied in a randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial published in Translational Vision Science & Technology. Patients taking the formula reported a significant decrease in floater discomfort. New or sudden floaters should always be checked by an eye doctor first.
Yes. MacuHealth TG Omega-3 contains fish oil from anchovy, sardine, and mackerel, and Vision Edge PRO contains omega-3 fish oil. Please tell our doctors about any allergies or medications before starting a supplement.

Eye supplements play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing vision health by providing essential nutrients that support the eyes' natural functions. These supplements are designed to combat the effects of aging, environmental stressors, and lifestyle factors that can lead to vision deterioration.
For instance, ingredients such as lutein and zeaxanthin are known for their ability to filter harmful blue light and reduce glare, while omega-3 fatty acids support retinal health and reduce inflammation. Regular intake of these supplements can lead to improved visual acuity and comfort, particularly for those at risk of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a leading cause of vision loss among individuals over the age of 50. This condition affects the macula, the part of the eye responsible for sharp, central vision, making it difficult to read, drive, or recognize faces.
There are two main types of AMD: dry and wet. Dry AMD is more common and progresses slowly, while wet AMD can lead to rapid vision loss. Eye supplements, especially those containing antioxidants and carotenoids, have been shown to help delay the onset of AMD and protect against its progression.
Selecting the right eye supplement can be overwhelming given the variety of options available. It's important to consider the specific nutrients that target your eye health needs, such as omega-3 fatty acids for dry eye relief or antioxidants for macular protection.
Consulting with an eye care professional can provide personalized recommendations based on your health history and lifestyle. Additionally, look for supplements that are clinically backed and have undergone rigorous testing to ensure their effectiveness and safety.
Incorporating eye supplements into your daily regimen is a simple yet effective way to support your vision health. Consistency is key; taking your supplements at the same time each day can help establish a routine that ensures you receive the benefits.
Pairing supplements with a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can further enhance their effectiveness. Foods high in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as zinc, can complement the action of eye supplements and contribute to overall eye wellness.
