25+ Years of Seacoast Eye Care

A Greenland Eye Doctor Who Knows the Seacoast

Dr. Amy Catalano Boyer brings more than 25 years of experience to her patients. Before opening her independent practice in Greenland, she spent more than 24 years practicing next to LensCrafters at Fox Run Mall in Newington, where many Seacoast families came to know and trust her care. Today she continues that work from her own office on Portsmouth Avenue.

She is joined by Dr. Susan Gallant-Behan, and by opticians Paul Quitadamo (ABO Certified, NH Dispensing Optician) and Colin B. McPhillips (NH RDO), who fit, adjust, and troubleshoot every pair of glasses in house.

Exams use advanced diagnostic technology including Optos widefield retinal imaging, Icare non-puff tonometry, and slit-lamp evaluation, so your eye doctor can review retinal and optic nerve health thoroughly.

Questions

Eye Exam Questions from Greenland Patients

Is there an eye doctor in Greenland, NH?

Yes. Fox Run Eye Care is an independent optometry practice located at 603 Portsmouth Avenue, Units 101 and 102, in Greenland, NH 03840. Dr. Amy Catalano Boyer and Dr. Susan Gallant-Behan provide comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages, and our opticians fit prescription glasses and contact lenses at the same location.

Can I get an eye exam and glasses in the same visit?

In most cases, yes. Our optical is on site, so after your comprehensive eye exam you can work with our optician to select frames, lenses, or contact lenses without booking a second appointment. This one-stop approach is one of the main reasons Greenland patients choose us over driving into Portsmouth.

What vision insurance do you accept?

We accept several major vision plans, including VSP Vision, EyeMed, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna Healthcare, Aetna, and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. We also accept FSA and HSA payments and CareCredit. Since plans vary, we can look up your specific eligibility and coverage for exams and glasses before your visit.

How often should adults have an eye exam?

Most adults benefit from an eye exam every one to two years. Patients with diabetes, higher prescriptions, or a family history of eye disease may need to be seen more often. Your eye doctor will recommend a schedule based on your health, your prescription, and what the exam finds.

Do I need dilation drops for my exam?

Our comprehensive exam uses Optos widefield retinal imaging, which gives a wide view of the retina. In many cases this allows a detailed retinal evaluation without traditional dilation drops. If your eye doctor needs a closer look at a specific area, dilation may still be recommended for that visit.

Do you offer same-day appointments for an eye problem?

We offer urgent same-day appointments during regular office hours for eye-related concerns such as sudden redness, pain, injury, or a change in vision. Call the office at 603-828-9601 and we will advise you. If you are experiencing a severe eye emergency, please seek immediate medical attention.

What should I bring to my eye exam?

Please bring a photo ID, your current vision insurance card, and any glasses or contact lenses you are wearing now so we know your current prescription. A list of your medications is also helpful. Arriving a few minutes early gives us time to verify your vision plan benefits.
